Takatso Sholoko biography

Takatso Sholoko is a young lady who originates from the Eastern Cape and later relocated to Gauteng in 2017.

She matriculated in 2019 and in 2021 she enrolled at Tvet college in Pretoria where she completed her N1-N4 in mechanical engineering (fitting and turning).

Takatso describes herself as someone who possesses time management, good communication, problem-solving and computer literacy skills. She learnt about Artisan Training Institute (ATI) for the first time when she came across a post in a Facebook group called “World of Artisans”. One of the members of the group had victoriously shared that she got trained and qualified as a diesel mechanic at ATI. She is interested in the Fitting and Turning trade because it excites her, and she has always envisioned herself doing it. Takatso feels she deserves this funding because she is a problem solver with good time management skills. She has a great desire to become one of the best trainees in the field.

Takatso says being a tenacious person is what sets her apart from the rest. “I don’t give up easily,” she said. She also mentioned about important it is to her to maintain good working relationships with her peers.

Takatso sees herself growing in a company and moving up the ranks in the next 5 years.
